Steve's Take

"Oysters and seafood are just so fresh in Seattle. We've got a whole bunch of different oyster farms. One of my favorite hikes is called Oyster Dome, which is up between Seattle and Bellingham and it's a good 6 mile hike up to the top and back down, and it happens to end a mile south of where Taylor Shellfish Farms gets a lot of their oysters.

So the rewards after hiking and seeing these beautiful views of the Olympic Mountains as you come down and get to shuck dozens of oysters at a picnic table straight from the source, all while drinking beer, is pretty awesome. On a clear day, that's as good a way as any to really soak it all in."
