"I was managing a collision repair shop. My brother Brendan and my wife Carissa and I made wine and brewed beer in our free time. We started looking at what we wanted out of our careers and what the meaning of this all was. We questioned everything. Our father's advice always seemed to guide us:
'Do one thing, and do it better than anyone else.'
That's why we only make red ales. The idea of building a family brewery started on our back porch in 1999. It's been fun so fun to watch our little project take on a life of its own."

"Our Red Evelyn Imperial IPA is a beer we brew once a year for a very special woman, our grandmother. She instilled a spirit of wonder, love, charisma, empathy, and the confidence in us we could do anything we put our minds to. In that beer, every ingredient and every nuance it produces is a memory of her."
My Advice for Other Entrepreneurs
"Continue to push boundaries and chase perfection in all that you do - even though you're on a journey that has no end."
My Denver Musts
"There are a bunch of great breweries in town and we're so torn on where we head outside of these walls. Bierstadt Lagerhaus and Spangalang Brewery are great spots in our neighborhood. If you care about artisanship and how your food is made, To the Wind Bistro on Colfax is a tiny spot that should not be missed!"
