"The decor at Bauhaus is amazing. They do contemporary fusions, which goes back to how the inclusivity of Vancouver and Canada allows for chefs to be a bit more vibrant, and use different cultures to express themselves through their food.
Bauhaus does German classics and they also have a seasonal menu that's always doing something that's really creative and new."
Located in Gastown, the restaurant is housed inside one of Vancouver’s most unique and historic buildings, The Boulder Hotel, which was originally built in 1890. Over the last hundred years, the building has gone through many changes from its early days as a pioneer-era saloon, to a bank, and, finally, a hotel. Led by Vancouver designer Andrea Greenway, the room has been designed to be seamless within the historical space, featuring a dining room, a large lounge area, and an open-concept kitchen. The interior also gives a nod to Germany’s capital city of Berlin, with graffiti art featured in both the dining room and the washrooms.
Bauhaus sets a new standard for refined dining in Vancouver. Owned by German film director Uwe Boll, the award-winning restaurant is known for its modern take on German cuisine and exceptional service. The fresh and nuanced flavours of the dishes by Executive Chefs Tim Schulte and David Mueller are built on the philosophy of transforming classic German cuisine into a contemporary form.
